I constantly reopen old wounds
hoping that maybe they won’t hurt as much this time
hoping that maybe I really have moved on
but perhaps I’ll never “move on”
as much as become accustomed to it
too well acquainted with the cuts you
left on me
too familiar with this painful
instability
to ever let them fully heal
I was thinking this very thought today. Do I really learn from these mind blowing moments or just, as you say, become accustomed.
Thanks for reading!
Great words so much feeling. it’s always hard to let go especially of someone special☺
Thank you!
Your welcome I feel alot of your words. Thankyou for sharing them☺
Your words resonate deeply; they’re striking, with so much pathos.
Thank you!
I love this! I know these feelings too.
Thanks!
I once had the same feelings. Now nearly 20 years later my ex and I are better friends then ever. There is hope!
I’m glad!
I so can relate. 😦

Do we ever truly “move on”? Love this piece.
Thank you!
You write from the instincts of your soul and your words expressed what many will understand. Time will heal your wounds, yet it is you who will use the scars as a reminder to be protective into the future. Great posting.
Thank you!
Thank you for liking a post on my blog MAE. Please spread the word. I am just starting out blogging and I would appreciate the support.
You’re welcome!
One of the best short pieces I have read till date. I read a few of your articles too. You are indeed an iconclast 🙂
I’d certainly love to know more about you
Thanks! Although I wouldn’t exactly define myself as an iconoclast. I just question everything, which is something I think many people should do more of.
I assume the same stand as well. My inspiration have been Socrates and George Orwell. Thus as a Communist I often tend to study my own ideas and question them.
You indeed have a flair for writing 🙂
Thank you!
A pure form of poetry, relevant to many in its universal message.
Thanks!
Thank you for liking my post.
You’re welcome!
we do what we need to do in order to make sense of what seems obscure. One day you will have had enough and then you will move on naturally like breathing .
Thanks for reading!
That IS why we revisit and reopen old wounds!
Thanks for reading!
Hope.
I actually do this! I’m not talking about what I write about, I’m talking about what I do to myself…

Glad you could relate
time is so much more effective than to trust before you are ready.
it just works like that.
patience! !! You will heal.
Thanks!
Never ending, interchanging, everlasting pain. Some kind of beautiful you wrote there. We loved it! Shared on twitter.
Thank you!
Healing takes time, choosing to live for today can speed up the process of how someone can heal from a past hurt.

Ah yes, burying the hatchet, but leaving the handle sticking out.
