I like beginnings,
beginnings of books and movies,
of life stages and relationships.
There is nothing so final and concrete
about beginnings.
In the beginning,
everything is new,
a great unknown we try
to understand with excitement
and fear.
But endings,
endings are filled with too
much pain and often regret.
At least one can remain
temporarily ignorant in the
beginning.
That is what I miss the most,
not knowing how it ends.
Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end, as Seneca the Younger said 🙂
Thanks for reading!
It was my pleasure 🙂
I love it!! I like to think that beginnings are pure. Unpredudice. In the beginning there are no walls or barriers. Like a brand new copy book. The possibilities are endless. “A” is a powerful letter. It’s the beginning of the alphabet. All possibilities. Absolute. I love your poem. I get it 100%. I write a lot. My stories end with solutions which present as a new beginning. That’s the key!! It’s so cool how you say beginnings are final and concrete because they are. Endings, true endings are brutally sad. If you have never heard Jackson Browne’s song “Late For The Sky” you should. I’ve lived that song several times. It’s about the last moments of a relationship that could have been but was doomed. “Looking hard into your eyes, there was nobody I’d ever known. Such an empty surprise, to feel so alone”. Lyrically and musically it’s a masterpiece but gut wrenching sad. I like your style. Let’s keep in touch. My name is Jimmy. cougarbjones2010@gmail.com Ttyl. JC

“How strange is it to be anything at all”.
No really. Think about it. I know I’m strange and I’ll admit that. But aren’t we all? And just because I’m true to myself doesn’t mean I’m right and others are wrong. We all take a COMPLETLY different path to the same place. JC
I especially love that song lyric, and yes I agree
No, thank YOU!!
I know this feeling all too well. Great poem.
Thanks!
I agree Michael.
This so beautifully sums uo my ‘reality’ at this moment – thank you.
No, Thank you!
I hope you save my email. I think you and I could collaborate on a masterpiece. I mean that.

I keep reading this over and over. It’s brilliant. Truly brilliant. It’s like you pulled it right from my heart. The endings of my books are always the beginnings of the solution. You have great talent.
JC
Thanks!
Yes beginnings are wonderful. I know though, from recent personal experience, that new beginnings can be simultaneously exciting and terrifying. The fact that we can learn from other’s beginnings does make it so much easier to keep moving forward. I have experienced my share of endings and agree they can be very taxing on your well being. Thanks for the poem!
A beautiful poem! Thanks for sharing this.
Thank you!
excellent topic choice; beginnings are always so much more hopeful (and happy) than endings, endings usually have that finality to them; glad to see you are writing again, or maybe i’ve just been too busy to read; hopefully i can use this holiday weekend to get caught up
Thanks! And I guess I’ve had a bit of writer’s block until recently
I know the feeling. I try to focus on happy thoughts and that is helping me through my blocks.
Good advice!
I believe in you! 😊
Thanks!
I agree. I’m at the point in my career that I can feel the signs of upcoming writers block and before I hit that wall I go to my list of ideas and will do a synopsis or so. I burned myself out when I pushed to finish “The 57 Killer”. I literally could not continue it for months. I won’t let that happen again. Since I began this new approach I finished my tv show, finished “The 57 Killer”, wrote a theater play with the soundtrack included and FINALLY wrote a children’s book. ( Which is something I’ve always wanted to do) I have tins of stories and ideas if people are interested. I wish you all success. If I can help or assist any of you in ANY way my doors are always open. I want you to succeed. If you do, we all do. We must stick together. Good luck and I hope you all stay in touch. My email is cougarbjones2010@gmail.com
Have a great weekend and be safe. I hope all is well with you all and your families. Ttyl.

Thank you!
There are givers and there ate takers. Some build walls. Some open doors. I a m a giver. I open doors. But not for you any more. I’ve carried your weight for a long time and it was heavy. Now that I see through you I unloaded it to where it belongs. Good luck carrying all that. And trust me, In the not too distant future life is going to hit you hard. And trust me, it’s a head Turner. So just kniw that when you decided to bring something to a level so low I never knew existed it was you who made that choice. Now, suddenly your never mattered. You never will. Carry that weight now. Your storm is brewing. Goodbye and thank you for being a taker. Cause that weight you just took will grab you further and further down.

The only certainty when there is a beginning is that one fateful day there will come an end.
So True!

1 Corinthians 2:9New King James Version (NKJV)
9 But as it is written:
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard,
Nor have entered into the heart of man
The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”[a]
p.s. I enjoyed this post. Thank you for it.
I also have trouble with endings :(. There is a book I love dearly but won’t finish because of the fear of losing its magic. Thank You for putting it into words.
Thanks for reading!
I absolutely love this. Its completely relatable, as I too love the adventure and mystery of starting something new! Many endings I can do without, but ends of bad days are always welcome lol 🙂 Awesome writing!
Thank you so much!
Endings are what we dread. But,don’t we wait for endings? Well written. Visit my blog as well. 🙂

Thank you so much!
Lovely! Every beginning has an end and every end has a beginning!
Thanks!
Reblogged this on "A Curious Mind".
I feel the same.but “in my beginning is my end”the poet said.if you see life as a circle..it might be easier. .
Thanks!
Endings always seem tainted with an inherent sadness to me. I rather prefer a kind of fair-thee-well until…
Nice to know at beginnings, there is always a fresh start, not knowing what the future will bring, can sometimes be exciting or not.
A new look!
